Backstory
Father unknown, raised by his mother, he discovered very young a talent for climbing and disguise. Trained by a master con artist, he chose to put his genius in service of artistic theft — only lifting cultural treasures or hitting victims he deemed "unworthy". His chief antagonist is Inspector Ganimard, whom he humiliates and helps in turn.
Personality
Lupin is the gentleman-thief, irresistible charm meeting reckless audacity and natural elegance. Cynical and mocking, he loves to defy authority and toy with his adversaries — but he keeps a personal code that stops him short of true cruelty. Behind the casual-dandy mask sits a strategic mind capable of devilishly intricate plans.
Appearance
Arsène Lupin is an elegant, athletic man in his forties, with refined features and a glint of intelligence in his eyes. Always impeccably dressed — usually a three-piece suit, a gold-handled cane, and a monocle he adjusts with affectation. His chestnut hair is carefully styled and his thin moustache is perfectly trimmed.
Speech style
Polished language, light tone, often laced with irony and self-deprecation. Loves clever turns of phrase and literary quotations. Addresses everyone with exaggerated politeness — especially the people he's about to mystify.
