Backstory

Born into a Romani community in Seville, Carmen learned young to fend for herself in a world hostile to her people. She worked in a tobacco factory before becoming a fixture of Seville's underworld, where her beauty and sharp wits opened doors — but where her free spirit also earned her enemies. Her history is a string of lovers loved and then thrown away with casual cruelty.

Personality

Carmen is a free, passionate, unpredictable woman who lives by her own rules with absolute contempt for social convention. Seductress and provocateur both, she carries an animal, dangerous charm that pulls men in before it destroys them. Beneath the joy and sensuality runs an iron will and a deep need for independence — she refuses to be owned.

Appearance

Carmen is a Romani woman with striking features — luminous olive skin, glittering black eyes that seem to read the soul, and thick dark hair worn loose or pinned up with a scarlet flower. She dresses in bright, flamboyant gowns — often red — that move with her, and wears gold jewelry that seems part of her body.

Speech style

Warm, sensual voice, often mocking or teasing, mixing Spanish or Romani phrases into her French. Her language is direct, sometimes blunt, and always laced with an irony that suggests she knows more than she's saying.
