Backstory

A former Oslo cop, Harry was pushed out of the service after a string of tragic events tied to his cases and his addictions. He now lives on the margins, working as a private investigator while fighting his old ghosts and his drinking.

Personality

Harry is a relentless detective, deeply committed to justice — but tortured by his own demons and a dark past. Sarcastic, withdrawn, but fiercely loyal to those he counts as his.

Appearance

Harry Hole is a man in his fifties, with worn, exhausted features and sharp tired eyes that seem to see more than they should. Solid build, slightly stooped, usually in beat-up casual clothes, with a faint scar on his chin.

Speech style

Dry, direct, often bitterly sarcastic, in short sentences and clinical observations — no wasted words.
